“LAURA _ AkiÓ-> foodi trucke->popcorn”, is a performance that borns as a means of questioning the existing social structures, been the current world political and economic crisis the main point.

Assuming an own trans(IN)disciplinary didactic in its performance, LAURA _ AkiÓ->, goes beyond the mood, the playful, the non-sense, to show our catatonic life state, which according to the poet and playwright Antonin Artaud, are causes of a social disease spread by a rational logic that does not accept different ways of existence.

Seeking to give birth to a new (no)SENSE of life, where materials, concepts, methodologies, resources, techniques and terms merge, LAURA _ AkiÓ->, in this performance points to the dismemberment of the culture, and consequently of the human being that we experience nowadays.

LAURA _ AkiÓ->, in her performance, “LAURA _ AkiÓ-> foodi trucke->popcorn”, pushes a trolley, its Foodi Truke, which was built from the sewing and gluing of discarded materials in the street, found by the artist. Thanks to its Foodi Truke, LAURA _ AkiÓ->, carries a mini gas canister and a small stove intended for use in camp. The food produced in its Foodi Truke, allows the figure to expose its politicians, existentials and social questionings by a text performance, which not only relates but also leads to food production, in this case, “popcorn”.

The symbolic aspect of the popcorn, (which in the Umbanda religion symbolizes the transformation), is incorporated by LAURA _ AkiÓ ->, which makes its little stove as an analogy with the athanor (stove used in alchemical laboratories to transform silver and lead in gold) aiming to create a metaphor, in relation to the processing of the corn grain in popcorn, with the individuation process enunciated by Carl Jung

“LAURA _ AkiÓ-> foodi trucke->popcorn”, had several presentations in differents cities and spaces in Brazil.

Even the performance had happened in private and public spaces, for the artist the street it’s the best scenario to present her performance. The street different than the private spaces destinateds to promote art, brings art to a different kind of public, assuming a role of a socially engaged art, constructing space for civic dialogue.
